The 1988 Nissan 300ZX was largely a carryover from the 1987 facelift, with only minor trim and equipment changes. It was offered with the VG30E naturally aspirated V6 or the VG30ET turbocharged V6, paired with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Common service considerations include timing belt and water pump replacement at recommended intervals, oil leak repairs, and aging rubber seals, including T-top weatherstripping on T-bar roof models. Turbo models warrant inspection of turbocharger and intercooler components, while all examples benefit from checks of suspension bushings, fuel injection system condition, and aging electrical connections.
