The 2000 Nissan Frontier was largely a carryover within the D22 generation, with only minor equipment and option revisions for that model year. It was offered with a 2.4-liter KA24DE four-cylinder or a 3.3-liter VG33E V6, in rear-wheel or four-wheel drive configurations. The KA24DE uses solid lifters that require periodic valve lash adjustment, and higher-mileage examples may develop oil consumption or timing chain tensioner wear. Routine attention to the cooling system, water pump, distributor, and transmission fluid is commonly recommended as these trucks age.
