The 2000.5 Nissan Frontier was a mid-year update that introduced the Desert Runner trim and revised exterior styling. It was offered with a 2.4L four-cylinder or a 3.3L V6, with a supercharged V6 available on the Desert Runner. Common service items include timing belt replacement on V6 models, frame and body rust inspection, and regular transmission fluid changes. Supercharged variants also require periodic supercharger oil service.
