The 2007 Frontier was largely a carryover from the 2005 redesign, with only minor trim and equipment updates. The available 4.0L V6 is generally durable, but radiator failures from cracked plastic end tanks are a common issue that can lead to overheating if not addressed. Some V6 engines also exhibit timing chain rattle on cold starts, and the automatic transmission benefits from regular fluid service. Inspecting the rear differential pinion seal for leaks is another commonly recommended check.
