Trim / Codes
The 2009 Nissan Frontier was largely a carryover model, retaining the 261-horsepower 4.0-liter V6 and the 2.5-liter four-cylinder on select two-wheel-drive King Cab trims, with only minor equipment and trim updates. Common service considerations include checking the automatic transmission fluid for coolant contamination, a problem linked to radiator failures in earlier D40 models, as well as inspecting the rear leaf springs, wheel bearings, and timing chain system. Frame and underbody rust inspection is also worthwhile in regions that use road salt.
