The 2008 Maxima received a revised front fascia and grille, updated wheel designs, and standard side-curtain airbags in the final year of its sixth generation. It continued to use a 3.5-liter V6 engine paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Common service considerations include CVT transmission fluid maintenance, as these units have shown reliability concerns in some examples. Regular oil changes and inspection of ignition coils and the timing chain tensioner are also frequently recommended.
