The 2004 Pathfinder was the final year of the third-generation R50, offering the 3.5L V6 across XE, SE, and LE trims, with the SE Off-Round package adding Bilstein shocks and skid plates. Common service items include timing belt replacement at the 105,000-mile interval and monitoring the automatic transmission, since radiator failures can introduce coolant into the transmission through the integrated cooler. Frame and underbody rust is worth inspecting, particularly in regions that use road salt, along with suspension wear and 4WD actuator function.
