The 2005 Pathfinder was fully redesigned, moving to a unibody platform shared with the Frontier and Titan, and received a new 4.0-liter V6 producing 270 horsepower paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. It offered seating for seven, available four-wheel drive, and a towing capacity of up to 6,000 pounds. Common service considerations include monitoring the automatic transmission, as some radiators have failed internally and allowed coolant to contaminate the transmission fluid. The timing chain-equipped V6 is generally durable, though higher-mileage examples may develop oil consumption or ignition coil issues.
