The 2009 Nissan Pathfinder continued with the 4.0-liter V6 engine and five-speed automatic transmission, with only minor trim and equipment changes from the prior model year. Common service considerations include regular transmission fluid changes, since the five-speed automatic is sensitive to fluid condition, and inspection of the radiator's integrated transmission cooler, which has been known to fail and contaminate the transmission fluid. Routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake service, and four-wheel-drive system checks applies as with other vehicles of this age.
