Trim / Codes
The 2000 Sentra introduced the fifth-generation B15 platform, replacing the previous B14 model with a redesigned body and a 1.8-liter QG18DE four-cylinder engine rated at 126 horsepower. It was sold only as a sedan in GXE and XE trims, with the sportier SE and SE-R variants returning in later model years. Common service considerations include monitoring oil consumption, inspecting ignition coil packs, and addressing catalytic converter efficiency codes as the vehicle ages. The engine uses a timing chain rather than a belt, so there is no scheduled timing belt replacement, though consistent oil changes remain important.
