Trim / Codes
The 2002 Nissan Sentra was part of the fifth generation (B15) lineup and received minor updates, including the introduction of the SE-R Spec V trim with a 2.5-liter engine rated at 175 horsepower. Most trims used a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine paired with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Common service considerations include monitoring oil consumption, particularly in the 2.5-liter SE-R engine, as well as inspecting ignition coils, oxygen sensors, and suspension components as the vehicle ages. Both engines use timing chains rather than belts, and regular fluid changes are generally recommended for long-term reliability.
