Trim / Codes

The 2009 Nissan Sentra was largely a carryover year, with minor equipment and trim updates across the 2.0, 2.0 S, 2.0 SL, and SE-R trims. It was offered with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, or a 2.5-liter in SE-R models, with most trims using Nissan's Xtronic CVT. Both engines use timing chains rather than belts, so no timing belt replacement is required, but periodic CVT fluid service is recommended due to known CVT durability concerns at higher mileage. Common service items include spark plugs (due around 105,000 miles), ignition coils, oxygen sensors, and brake components.
