Trim / Codes
The 2004 Nissan Quest was fully redesigned, moving to a platform shared with the Altima and Murano and powered by a 3.5-liter V6 producing 240 horsepower through a 4-speed automatic transmission. Trim levels ranged from the base 3.5 to the sport-tuned SE, with available features including power sliding doors, a power liftgate, and rear DVD entertainment. Common service considerations include timing chain tensioner rattle on cold starts, power sliding door cable failures, weak rear hatch struts, and occasional transmission shifting complaints. Higher-mileage examples may also show oil consumption and catalytic converter efficiency faults, so checking for open recalls and maintenance records is worthwhile.
